More than a foot of snow in 24 hours – In late May

As of 8:30 a.m. local time Thursday, Gander, Newfoundland,  reported 33 cm of snow since Wednesday night. More snow is expected through Thursday

Temperatures drop again on Friday night with wet snow possible for Gander and vicinity

Several photos taken in the Gander area show scenes of green grass QUICKLY replaced by a foot of snow in less than 24 hours.

  1. Has the population woken up to the fact that this will now be “normal” for the foreseeable future?
    They’ll soon be praying for some global warming, particularly when food prices to to escalate.

  2. I like how the weather man talks the whole thing down by suggesting its perfectly normal, just a blip on the monitor, while the lady resident thinks its weird and unusual. I guess nobody is paying her to blame her own SUV and central heating system for the snow.
