Austria – “Winter is returning – and how!”

“With 40 centimeters (16 inches) of fresh snow and hurricane winds up to 161 km / h it is really uncomfortable.”

In the Alps it snows strongly. Up to 40 cm of fresh snow is expected, says Hannes Rieder from the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) in Styria. “With what already lies and the strong wind it can set (cause snow drifts?) up to 1,5 meters (4½ ft).”

In the west, too, it finally snows. “On the mountains falls up to 30 cm (12 inches) or more,” says ZAMG colleague Susanne Drechsel from Tyrol to AUSTRIA.

In Vienna, wind gusts of more than 100 km/h have been measured in the last hour. The peak was reported at 104 km/h.

  1. you loose all credibility when you wont allow posts which encourage debate as well as those supporting your theories. This is not a lot of snow for Austria at this time of year and that’s a fact. Its a shame because I support a lot of what you say
