Blizzard paralyzes Cheyenne, Wyoming – Shatters snowfall record

A powerful snowstorm dumped more than a foot of snow on Cheyenne yesterday,  causing widespread closures of highways, businesses and government offices and shattering previous snowfall and precipitation records for March 23. 

As of 11 a.m. yesterday, 13.6 inches (34 cm) of snow had fallen, shattering the previous record of 8.9 inches set in 1996.
