Why We Must Forget About Man-Made Global Warming and Come To Terms With the Fact That the Next Ice Age Could Begin Any Day
10 Jan 2018 – In July 2012, geologists noted the eruption of a previously little-known underwater volcanic area called Havre Seamount off the coast of New Zealand.
An “ocean chimney” the size of Tasmania is pumping huge amounts of heat into the atmosphere. Headlines call the hole “mysterious,” but it doesn’t seem all that mysterious to me. I think the heat is coming from underwater volcanic activity.
And we wonder what is heating our seas.
“This could wipe out the East Coast of the USA if the side of the island slips off into the Atlantic,” says reader.
And no one even knew it was there. Researchers also suspect there are undiscovered underwater volcanoes in the region. Includes video.
A reader sent me a link from a 1993 article that shows how woefully ignorant we once were when it came to underwater volcanoes.
“The phenomenon should be called Niño Volcánico (Volcanic Child) because it is generated by eruptions of thousands of submarine volcanoes.” – Jorge Manrique Prieto
