Crystal Mountain – Only 32 inches to reach last season’s total snowfall

“The conditions are as good as they get!” says Crystal Mountain, Washington snow report.

“You simply can’t beat the overall snow quality and amount of powder we’ve received over the past few days. We picked up 9″ after opening yesterday, another 12″ overnight, making the 24-hour total a whopping 21″!

“Whatever you had planned for today, forget about it. It’s a drop everything and get up here kind of day! Over 16 feet (488 cm) of snow has fallen already this season and we’re just 32″ (81 cm) away from the total snowfall from all of last season.”

  1. Crater Lake National Park has now received over 80 inches since the snow storms have started! An additional 20 to 30 inches are expected thru today. The say on the news the Park is 150% above normal average for this time of the year!

  2. Well, as of 4pm today they were only 29″ away… And their snow-stake cam shows another 4-5″ already, with another 20″ or so forecasted by tomorrow night. They could be close by Christmas Eve.

Btw… I was up there today… So deep! So soft! Unusually dry and light for the Cascades! Chest and face shots all day long!

  3. Why aren’t we getting any snow in Ontario? It’s so mild, would love to have some of what other places are getting.

    • Dog gone cold front came through with high winds last night and now it’s not the wuamest xmas evah in chicago. The longrange in my area took a big drop in temps. with forecasted rain now possibly snow .

    • Liona, I’am down here in Illinois, in 2013 it rained here around new years, melted all the snow and then we got the deepest longest lasting snow cover I have ever seen here, so hold on and enjoy nice while you can, a wobble in the jetstream will be showing in a town near you soon , most likely.

  4. Thunder Wednesday morn, here in Chicago area. Temperature & weather patterns seem to be very persistent for weeks at a time and then change within days. butt never fear, the long range forecast calls for 50s and more sun, too bad it never comes true ,some of us should start telling the idiots they can’t predict global warming. AGWERS all giddy about the waumest xmas evah nere in the eastern US. But+ 70 or -22 f. I consider normal here in Midwest USA. Seen em all in last 50 yrs.
