COOL HIGH PRESSURE FROM THE GULF OF ALASKA IS SETTLING INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST…BRINGING AN UNSEASONABLE CHILL TO THE AIR FOR EARLY MAY. SKIES WILL CLEAR IN MOST AREAS SHORTLY AFTER SUNSET. THE CLEAR SKIES AND LIGHT WINDS WILL PROVIDE OPTIMAL CONDITIONS FOR COOLING OVERNIGHT. RECORD COOL TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE…AS TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY APPROACH THE FREEZING MARK OVERNIGHT IN THE OUTLYING VALLEYS AWAY FROM METROPOLITAN CENTERS.

* TIMING: LATE TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING.

* TEMPERATURE: 30 TO 34 IN THE OUTLYING AREAS…MID TO UPPER 30S CLOSER TO URBAN CENTERS.

* IMPACTS: SENSITIVE OUTDOOR PLANTS MAY BE KILLED IF LEFT UNCOVERED. BUDDING PLANTS AND TREES MAY ALSO BE DAMAGED DUE TO NEAR FREEZING OR SUBFREEZING TEMPERATURES.

  1. Over the last ~ year it seems there’s been a couple of warmish spells at select spots, even a few record temperatures. But, in contrast, there’s been scores of brutally or record cold periods all year long all over the world. This isn’t global warming. But the BS Artists got that covered… it’s “climate change.”

    • My wife and I are currently friends with a couple who grew up in northwest Organ and moved here to southeast Texas about 4 years. So correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t it used to be pretty much normal to still have frost there in Organ this time of the year?
