Galatasaray (Turkey) v Juventus (Italy) abandoned due to heavy snow – Video

Sides taken off after 32 minutes of play – lines on the pitch not visible following heavy snowfall in Istanbul.

Officials planned to resume the action after the surface had been cleared but continued heavy snow forced an abandonment with the game goalless.

More snow is forecast in Istanbul on Wednesday.

  1. Watched the game. I didn’t notice any snow falling until 8 minutes in. What was falling was pretty light. It wasn’t until 22 minutes in that it really started falling and 24 minutes that it started showing on the pitch. And it looked a lot like snow pellets instead of flakes.

  2. Heavy snowfall paralyses large parts of countries like Latvia, Turkey and even the USA is in a deep freeze. But the MSM in the Netherlands do not report that. But now this soccer match was suspended, I saw the news about it this morning on Dutch television.
