Good Grief: Here We Go With The “Climate Change” Causes Volcanoes And Earthquakes Again

By William Teach

If you remove a few letters from “earthquakes” and the “-” from the “e”, you’re left with “quacks”

Geological disasters might influence climate, for instance when volcanic debris blots out the sun. But climate cannot disrupt geology. Right? Well, actually no, says a British geologist Bill McGuire, in a troubling new book, Waking The Giant: How a Changing Climate Triggers Earthquakes, Tsunamis and Volcanoes.

There is, McGuire argues, growing evidence to incriminate changing climate in the planet’s most destructive geological events. Melting ice sheets and changes in sea level can, he maintains, set off the largest earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Indeed, thanks to climate change, a human hand may already be at work. Potentially, McGuire’s argument adds a whole new dimension to why we should be worried about climate change.

Except, there were no receding glaciers near the massive earthquakes in Japan and Indonesia. Nor the big ones in Mexico, Chile, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many others. Yet again, much like with “climate change” and weather, they’re taking events and assigning causation with inference. Much like “man induced “climate change” itself.

  1. Thats right up there with the story on yahoo that dinosaur farts warmed the planet along time ago! Go read it! You cant make this stuff up!

    • I actually sent Robert a link to that dinosaur story. I saw it at work and shared with some other people. We had a good laugh.

  2. …and The Big List of things caused by global warming continues to grow. Up next breast cancer and autism…

  3. Wow. They’re really trying hard, now. I think it’s the snails in my garden setting off earthquakes and volcanoes. They stamp their…um…pads?

  4. those stupid non-sense retarded idiots – just like the articles as of late – especially that incompetent secretary of state. I’ve never seen so much stupidity and ignorance spitting out of the mouth from this delusional government and our public schools. I can’t even recognize this country anymore.

  5. So if a butterfly flaps its wings in China can it cause global warming?
    Correlation does not imply causation.
This ‘geologist’ needs to go write that on the black board 1000 times. Thats an old fashioned chalk board not one of these new fangled white boards.

  6. Chuckle all you want. Rant all you want, but remember, these “idiots” are writing for the ones that are even less educated, have a span of attention about the length of the wingspan of a tsetse fly, and can’t comprehend a number larger than a 10 inch pizza or a 12 ounce beer. THEY believe it, and, unfortunately, THEY are the majority. WE, on the other hand, tend to use all the letters in a word, don’t use abbreviations that are currently standard, thus don’t write in terms and words that the majority understand. If you want to make them change their minds, you have to be as dumbed down as they are, because anything more than that causes their eyes to glaze over.

  7. Fooligans be they! If Piers Corbyn is right (and I think he is) then climate is related to earthquakes and volcanic activity by the SAME force..solar proton flux and CME. BOTH cause climate and earthquake activity at the same time hence the supposed ‘climate change causes earthquakes’ nonsense. They are fooled.

  8. The global warming doomsayers are becoming increasingly desperate. They’ll invent any claim, no matter how wild or unscientific, to keep the research grants rolling in. The AGW theory is based on unscientific nonsense. Its chief theologians –e.g. the Hansens, Gores, Trenberths, Joneses and Manns — are interested only in money and global people control.

  9. Soon we will hear about “climate change dragging the moon towards Earth” or that “climate change is steering Earth into the sun”. We are back in the dark ages!

  10. I don’t have a degree in science, but, I like to use common sense.

If this “scientist” was right, shouldn’t there be more volcanoes and earthquakes in hotter spots than in colder ones

I was born and raised in Mexico City, where we have both, nearby volcanoes and ever present earthquakes and by no means we have the highest temperatures in the Country.

On a second thought, I don’t even know why I spent time on this idiot idea of Bill McGuire…

  11. Boy are these people dumb. Global warming doesn’t have anything do with earthquakes or volcanoes. The planet;s poles are shifting would be a better reason for the earthquakes and the rising in the volcanic activity. I am very sure global warming has nothing to do the Juan De Fueco plate going under the North America plate. The Pacific Northwest is were the mega quake is going to happen. People in the Pacific Northwest had dreams about for years,
