  1. This is quite disturbing. But not unexpected, as there have been many signs we will have a long hard winter in much of the CONUS this 2011 – 2012 winter season. I’ve been watching the jet stream all summer and it has wanted to go into winter mode badly. Now it will.

  2. Our garden in Laramie, Wyo. looks done. Don’t even think the green tomatoes still on the vines will ripen. It’s 46 degrees and raining today.
