As much as 12 inches of snow fell on Sunday in parts of Delaware and New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service. And most of Washington, D.C. came to a stop Tuesday under a winter weather system that just won’t quit.
By mid-morning, snow was falling on most of the heavily traveled I- 95 corridor from Boston to Washington. Temperatures were expected to drop into the 20s and teens, creating treacherous driving conditions.
Almost 1,400 flights were canceled nationwide.
Forecasters for The Weather Channel said that Philadelphia, Washington and Baltimore would end up with 2 to 5 inches of snow, and higher amounts in the suburbs.
