  1. Brazil, 11/06/2017
In the morning of this Sunday (11), the SC-114, known as Paths of the Snow, dawned with fields covered by frost. In São Joaquim, in the Serra da Catarina, vegetation, houses and vehicles were left with a thin white coat.
According to Epagri / Ciram, in São Joaquim, the minimum recorded was -1ºC. According to the meteorologist Clóvis Corrêa, a mass of cold air and of low humidity, considered of high pressure, provides the formation of frost.
“At night, because there is no cloudiness, there is a natural cooling of the soil, which helps in the formation of frost,” Corrêa said. According to the meteorologist, there are chances of frost also on Monday (12) in the mountainous region

  2. Currently looks more like mid-April on the highway outside the Squaw Valley ski resort at 8pm. I bet they have new snow to report on Monday(and they’re still open weekends for the foreseeable future thanks to the 7 feet they got)

    • That’s true. I looked at the webcam for the Mt. Rose highway, looked like a January or February whiteout more than mid-June.

    • I am shocked at how many people sincerely believe global warming is causing this. Don’t they remember how so many “scientists” have been telling us that snowfall – even wintertime snowfall – would soon be a thing of the past?
