WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW…IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 6 PM MDT TUESDAY.

HEAVY SNOWFALL WILL MAKE OUTDOOR RECREATION DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE IN THE HIGH COUNTRY. BEARTOOTH PASS WILL BE IMPACTED BY ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL.

RAIN SHOWERS WILL CHANGE TO SNOW THIS AFTERNOON. SNOW…HEAVY AT TIMES…WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION…10 TO 15 INCHES…GREATEST ABOVE 8000 FEET.

WINDS…WEST TO NORTHWEST GUSTS TO 40 MPH WILL CAUSE BLOWING SNOW OVER THE HIGH PEAKS.

Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall are still on track for the mountains of North Central and Southwest MT.

The heaviest snowfall should occur in the Little Belt and Big Snowy Mountains.
