Heavy snowfall in Idaho

Parts of Utah, Nevada, Wyoming and Montana are under winter warnings due to the same storm. Multiple wrecks reported

28 Mar 2016 – The big snowstorm began dumping on the Pocatello area Tuesday morning and it didn’t take long for the wrecks to begin.

Several inches of snow are forecast for the region’s lower elevations while the mountains could receive more than a foot.

Up to a foot of snow could fall on the Montpelier, Lava Hot Springs, Soda Springs, Thatcher, Georgetown, Paris, Grace and Bancroft areas. and nearby mountains will likely receive even more.

Malad, Downey, McCammon, Arimo, Inkom, Rockland, Palisades, Oakley, Holbrook, Island Park, Victor, Driggs, St. Anthony and Ashton could see up to 10 inches of the white stuff, with nearby mountains possibly receiving more than a foot.

Up to seven inches of snow is forecast for the American Falls, Burley, Arco, Craters of the Moon, Rupert, Pocatello, Chubbuck, Preston, Blackfoot, Aberdeen, Fort Hall, Shelley, Idaho Falls, Ammon, Dubois, Rexburg and Rigby areas.

Southwest Idaho, Central Idaho including the Twin Falls area are also  under winter storm warnings due to the same storm.
