Heavy snowfall on Island of Crete

Thirty cm (12 inches) of snow in Anogia, Crete.

30 Dec 2016 – A new wave of bad weather that hit the island in recent days has created a whitewashed scenery in Anogia.

According to Cretapost, the snow has reached 30 centimeters, with snow machines working nonstop.

Fortunately no problems have been recorded. In fact, both residents and guests of Anogia maintained their enthusiasm and created … snowmen!

  1. Wow. Ive been to Crete many times in the 80’s. The place was warm, with a semi arid climate perfect for growing olive trees. I would never expect snow here. Just sayin. The AGW clique must be getting nervous.
