Just a FEW of the Climate FAILS on snow

Caroline Snyder

FAIL! “Winters with strong frost and lots of snow like we had 20 years ago will cease to exist at our latitudes.”
— Mojib Latif, Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, 1 April 2000

FAIL! “Harsh winters likely will be more seldom and precipitation in the wintertime will be heavier everywhere. However, due to the milder temperatures, it’ll fall more often as rain than as snow.”
— Online-Atlas of the Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft, 2010

FAIL! More heat waves, no snow in the winter… Climate models… over 20 times more precise than the UN IPCC global models. In no other country do we have more precise calculations of climate consequences. They should form the basis for political planning… Temperatures in the wintertime will rise the most… there will be less cold air coming to Central Europe from the east…In the Alps winters will be 2°C warmer already between 2021 and 2050.”
— Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, September 2, 2008.

FAIL! “Good bye winter. Never again snow?”
— Spiegel, 1 April 2000

FAIL! Yesterday’s snow… Because temperatures in the Alps are rising quickly, there will be more precipitation in many places. But because it will rain more often than it snows, this will be bad news for tourists. For many ski lifts this means the end of business.”
— Daniela Jacob, Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, 8 Aug 2006

FAIL! Ice, snow, and frost will disappear, i.e. milder winters” … “Unusually warm winters without snow and ice are now being viewed by many as signs of climate change.”
— Schleswig Holstein NABU, 10 Feb 2007

FAIL! “Good bye winter… In the northern hemisphere the deviations are much greater according to NOAA calculations, in some areas up to 5°C. That has consequences says DWD meteorologist Müller-Westermeier: When the snowline rises over large areas, the bare ground is warmed up even more by sunlight. This amplifies global warming. A process that is uncontrollable – and for this reason understandably arouses old childhood fears: First the snow disappears, and then winter.
— Die Zeit, 16 Mar 2007

FAIL! Within a few years winter snowfall will become a very rare and exciting event. … Children just aren’t going to know what snow is.”
— David Viner, Climatic Research Unit, University of East Anglia, UK, 20 March 2000

FAIL! The rise in temperature associated with climate change leads to a general reduction in the proportion of precipitation falling as snow, and a consequent reduction in many areas in the duration of snow cover.”
— Global Environmental Change, Nigel W. Arnell, Geographer, 1 Oct 1999

FAIL! The lowest winter temperatures are likely to increase more than average winter temperature in northern Europe. …The duration of the snow season is very likely to shorten in all of Europe, and snow depth is likely to decrease in at least most of Europe.”
— IPCC Climate Change, 2007

FAIL! We have seen that in the last years and decades that winters have become much milder than before and that there isn’t nearly as much snowfall. All simulations show this trend will continue in the future and that we have to expect an intense warming in the Alps…especially in the foothills, snow will turn to rain and winter sports will no longer be possible anymore.”
— Mojib Latif, Leibnitz Institute for Oceanography, University of Kiel, February 17, 2005

FAIL! Planning for a snowless future: “Our study is already showing that that there will be a much worse situation in 20 years.”
— Christopher Krull, Black Forest Tourism Association / Spiegel, 17 Feb 2005

FAIL! January 2000 Dr. Michael Oppenheimer of the Environmental Defense Fund commenting (in a NY Times interview) on the mild winters in New York City: “But it does not take a scientist to size up the effects of snowless winters on the children too young to remember the record-setting blizzards of 1996. For them, the pleasures of sledding and snowball fights are as out-of-date as hoop-rolling, and the delight of a snow day off from school is unknown.”
— Dr. Michael Oppenheimer of the Environmental Defense Fund

    • If more snow is in the future they will simply rewrite the history books to show they were right all along.

They’re already doing this with the temperature records – somehow the further into the future we go the colder the past was then when people actually lived it.

Now that is some shonky bookkeeping !

The classic example is Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology.

I simply cannot believe anyone who has any sort of integrity can support what Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology has done with this important historical record.

      Talk about cheats and liars.

      From Wikipedia

“Marble Bar has a hot desert climate (Köppen BWh) with sweltering summers and warm winters. Most of the annual rainfall occurs in the summer. The town set a world record of most consecutive days of 100 °F (37.8 °C) or above, during a period of 160 days from 31 October 1923 to 7 April 1924.”

Here is a webarchive link to the actual page that Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology used to show :

As an Australian I can swear the webpage shown is exactly what I have seen before the BOM disappeared it.

The world record heatwave that has never been eclipsed !

It disappeared from view several years ago – you cannot find it anymore !

One could argue that web pages must be archived at some point in time but an historical weather record that has never been eclipsed is some thing that any decent historian would fight tooth and nail to preserve !

And yet our government organisations have repeatedly shown themselves to be so degraded and untrustworthy they prefer to rewrite history, hide the truth and lie in order to support their totally discredited hypothesis !

Anyone with any sense of shame would hang their head in shame at such blatant fraud but not our lying governmental socialists – nothing is sacred to these complete bastards but their ridiculous messages that CO2 has a greater heating capacity than the Sun !

      Talk about a swamp !

George Orwell would be astonished that his version of a dystopian future was so correct !

      • Forgot to mention that the Aus. BOM classifies a sequence of days above 35°C as a heatwave.

Marble Bar had 200 days above 35°C during that spring/summer 1923/24 yet the media tout a period of 5 days above 35°C as an “unprecedented” heatwave – these people couldn’t lie straight in bed !

      • Look up the Mandela Effect. A lot more then that is being ‘rewritten’. It’s pretty scary stuff. I worry one day we will wake up to Hillary had won and anybody who remembers Trump winning is an insane lunatic and they will open up the [reeducation] camps with mysterious funding for it.

  1. Robert. This end of snow/winter meme has been old hat for years now. As I have said before, in a post that was not put on your blog, I am as sceptical as can be about what is patently bogus climate science. But your posts are similar in their frenzy to that hyperbolic climatemania. You are doing damage to the sceptic cause with your over the top posts.

      • Posting forecasts from the UK Daily Express is never a good idea as they always have a ‘buried under snow’ story every winter that never happens.

    • What Robert is saying is true and the snow is history is not old hat its a new term they came up with over the past 10 to 20 years or so.So saying snow and cold is history is what over the top .And Robert has every right to call that out!

  2. The climate charlatans never have to explain their gross errors or incompetence.
The climate charlatans never loose their jobs for touting unfounded alarmism.
The climate charlatans retire with huge and safe retirement funds.

Meanwhile farmers all across the USA and Europe are being driven out of business because of the nonsense these climate charlatans espouse — UN facilitated nonsense of AGW, Climate Change, Climate Crisis — ALL NONSENSE!

These people (and the UN-IPCC) are willing advocates for crimes against humanity!

    Stop the madness!
Catastrophic Climatism (the belief in human caused climate disaster) is a real and evident danger against humans.

  3. Epic Failed Predictions Fall Upon Faulty Climate Models –
Which Point Directly to Those who Built those Models..

    3 Strikes? Definitely Out!

Hit the Road Jack! .. And Don’t Come Back!

  4. 😉 and the msm NEVER ever call them to account, because they also rave up the warmist agenda and are paid to play via adverts and exclusive rights to the fakest climate press releases

  5. It is certainly a much quicker job to list the predictions the alarmists have got right. Here is the list:-

  6. Each of these “scientists” should be contacted and asked about this again , today……………..

Why could they not predict the situation we are having TODAY when they started running their mouths 20-25 years ago?

    They will refuse to answer.

  7. While I dont believe in manmade climate change at all and believe the earth is getting colder, why though has Japan become much warmer this past two years. The weather here used to be stable it is now all over the place with warm days in winter, and no where near as cold as it was just a few years back.
Is this a temporary blip. Anyone got an answer to this??
Also since the sun is suposed to be in its cool phase why is it that the sun seems hotter the last couple of years, when I would expect it to be cooler?

    • It depends where the jet stream is located.beleave it or not doing the Max glacer of ice ages Alaska did not have a very cold climate in fact there is evidence that Alaska may have had a warmer pattern doing the ice ages and it has to do about how the jet stream patterns sat up doing the ice age patterns. Not sure about Japan climate doing ice ages. The reason why Alaska may have been warmer then normal in the ice ages could well be from the fact there trended to be a prodominent negative NAO/EPO blocks on steroids doing the max ice ages which resulted in ridges in Alaska.doing positive NAO/EPO it tends to be the opposite.

    • I don’t think that the cooling will be everywhere the same. If I’m not mistaken in the last MIA it was warmer in Alaska also and Japan is SW of Alaska. Hopefully someone will come with a better answer.

    • I come from the school of thought that the ice age might not have been that much colder than today. Robert did talk a lot about undersea volcanoes which warm the ocean. This leads to greater evaporation, hence ability to fall as snow on high ground. You will find snow patches in Scotland and Norway lingering longer but I have no easy explanation as to how the giant Laurentide Ice Sheet covered just about all of Canada, a good bit of the United States but left Alaska full of lions, tigers, mammoths, mastodons and an ecosystem similar to the African Savannah. That ice sheet will return 1 day. When? I don’t know.

  8. Perhaps there are underwater volcanos that become more active during GSMs and heat whatever currents flow past Alaska and Japan.

Or maybe Japan is heating up from the cumulative effects of radiation from Fukushima. (I’m not a nuclear physicist, so I don’t know if that’s possible. But I am a student of human nature, so I know that if it were happening, we would not hear one word about it, which we are not.)

    • The pollution from Fukushima is serious but it would not lead to a warming you could measure. I wouldn’t eat any fish from the Pacific or go swimming there. That’s twice now, here and Chernobyl incompetence led to accidents. This website mocks solar, wind, ethanol and battery technology as inferior to coal and oil but if anyone had the idea that nuclear is the way to go he is mistaken.
