For those who don’t know how to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, minus 40C is exactly the same as minus 40F. I don’t care what day of the year it is, that is cold.
Almost everywhere in the Russia, temperatures are running above the norm.
However, in Oymyakon , the temperature last night dropped to -42.4°C.
This is apparently NOT a record. According to Wikipedia, Oymyakon is a rural locality in Oymyakonsky District of the Sakha Republic, Russia, and is one of the coldest permanently inhabited locales on Earth.
