Montana – Two record-breaking days of snowfall in Helena this week

“That’s pretty rare,” to have two new records from two separate weather events in the same week, said meteorologist Jim Brusda.

On Thursday, Helena Regional Airport reported 6 inches of snow, breaking that day’s record of 5.6 inches set in 1979, said rusda, lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Great Falls.

On Monday, Dec. 12, Helena’s snowfall of 5.8 inches, broke the 1985 record of 5.7 inches, Brusda said.
