The 2nd mouse gets the cheese

Just learned this one today. (It’s a cartoon). The second mouse gets the cheese.

Reminds me of that old axiom, “The early bird gets the worm.”

Sure wouldn’t want to be the early worm.

Happy Labor Day.

  1. Timing is everything, but not the same for all. What is good timing for one maybe bad timing for another. Each must determine their own life.

  2. The idea blows a lot of market theory out of the water, similar to some of the notions of John Nash. The fact is, evolution doesn’t necessarily favor the good, nor even the smart, nor the quick or the strongest. Sometimes it just favors at random. You don’t understand evolutionary theory until you understand this and 99.99999% of evolutionary advocates don’t have the foggiest grasp of this idea.

  3. There is a lot of truth to this axiom, but one also has to remember that the loudest scientist gets the research grants.

  4. JuLIAR Gillarfd wants Aus to lead the world…. in ruining its economy with carbon fantasies…
I wish she was a first mouse..
    and I the trap:-)

  5. A really interesting corollary – was Neanderthal the first mouse? He appears to have done all the hard yards with Homo Sapiens coming along after him and collecting the cheese.
