New record low this morning in Minnesota

We briefly dropped down to 37° (2.8C) in Mankato this morning, says reader. That was enough to break the old temperature record of 38° set back in 1976.

  1. I lived in Mankato for a couple of years. I didn’t keep track of how many times the national news reported International Falls as the coldest spot in the nation, while Mankato, in the southern part of the state, was around 5° F colder. No surprise that Mankato mentioned here.
