Nigel Farage Savages AGW before European Parliament – Video

We may have made one of the biggest, stupidest, collective mistakes in history by getting so worried about global warming.” — Nigel Farage.

“Nigel Farage seems to get it but others in the European Parliment are still out to lunch on the climate change issue,” says reader Dan Sommerfield.

“Farage unleashed an epic rant on Van Rompuy and Barroso, destroying the climate change carbon tax agenda and displaying new NASA photographs of the polar ice-caps showing an astonishing 60% growth in the northern icecaps in the past 12 months!

Mr Barroso, I’ve listened to you for nearly ten years – full marks for consistency – you are a man that likes fixed ideology, you probably picked it up when you were a communist or Maoist, or whatever you were, and for the last ten years you’ve pursued euro-federalism combined with an increasing green obsession.

It is time to stop this stupidity and to help you, there is the NASA photograph last August of the northern icecaps. And there is the NASA photograph this year of the icecaps. They increased by 60% in one year. Leading American scientists are now saying we are going into a period of between 15-30 years of global cooling.

Round One

Well, Mr Barroso, not just you but the entire unelected government of Europe and a chance perhaps for our citizens to reflect on where the real power lies in this Union.

I’ve listened to you for nearly ten years – full marks for consistency – you are a man that likes fixed ideology, you probably picked it up when you were a communist or Maoist, or whatever you were, and for the last ten years you’ve pursued euro-federalism combined with an increasing green obsession.

And yes, it’s been good – for bureaucrats, for big businessmen, for landowners, it has not been a bad decade. But it has been a disaster for poor people, unemployed people and those on low wages.

The euro which you believed would give us monetary stability has done the very opposite, it was a misconstruction from the start, and it’s pretty clear that youth unemployment, at nearly 50% across the Mediterranean, is probably nearly double what it would have been as a direct result of the misconstruction that is the euro.

They’re in the wrong currency, but I know that you’ll never ever admit to that, and the euro I think will die a very slow and painful death. But you’re all in denial about that.

But it’s the green agenda that I find really more interesting. You keep telling us that climate change is an absolute top priority, and you’ve been greeted with almost hysteria in this place over the last ten years.

Well, those of us who have been sceptical about this have been mocked, derided, called ‘deniers’.

We’ve argued from the start that the science wasn’t settled, and we’ve argued very strongly that the measures we’re taking to combat what may or may not be a problem are damaging our citizens.

And we’ve been proved to be right. Tens of millions forced into fuel poverty, manufacturing industry being driven away because of course our competitors in China and in America are going for cheap fossil alternatives and of course wind turbines blighting the landscapes and seascapes of Europe.

And still today you go on about green growth. Well, the consensus is breaking behind you – you know, [Industry] Commissioner Tajani the other day said that actually we face a systematic industrial massacre.

It is time to stop this stupidity and to help you [holds up colour pictures] there is the NASA photograph last August of the northern icecaps. And there is the NASA photograph this year of the icecaps. They increased by 60% in one year. Leading American scientists are now saying we are going into a period of between 15-30 years of global cooling.

We may have made one of the biggest stupidest collective mistakes in history by getting so worrying about global warming. You can reverse this in the next seven or eight months. You can bring down peoples’ taxes. If you don’t, they will vote on it in the European elections of next year.

Round TWO

“Well next year’s European elections will not be contested on the old division lines of left and right and several group leaders have agreed with that today. Frankly that is all irrelevant.
It will be contested between those of us who believe in national democracy within the nation state; and those who believe that the 28 countries that are part of the EU are better governed by these institutions. That in a sense is what this comes down to.

But Mr Barroso, those of us who believe in national democracy do not want to take us back to the Western Front or 1914. Those of us who believe in national democracy will say to you that it is a healthy assertion of identity.

But it also shows a deeper understanding of why the problems of Europe were caused in the past. It is democratic nation states in Europe that are stable and will not go to war with each other.

  1. Mr. Barroso made an allusion to skeptic scientists being paid by big business. It’s a common dodge. My challenge to him is: “Name one, give proof. If you can’t, shut up!”

    • Yeah, “99% of scientists agree” with the climate change hoax, is a ridiculous political statement without any basis on facts.

  2. Nigel Farage makes a lot a lot of sense as usual, but with this zionist controlled EU organisation, nobody will take heed of what he says.
IMO the EU has been set up as a means of undermining and ultimately destroying the individual freedom of nationstates, aswell as the demographic, democratic, economic and christian cultural roots of Europe, as a testcase for the establishment of a zionist/illuminati/freemasonic run worldgovernment, based on a sharp division of a small, but superrich and powerful elite against the poor, powerless worldpopulation, a NWO so to speak !.

  3. You would think after the 5 terrible winters the UK and much of Europe has suffered in recent years, that the European parliament would begin to listen to what Nigel Farage has to say. But, maybe they have a separate agenda from saving the earth from global warming.

  4. Good Luck at backing away now…. These politicians have their family fortunes invested in Green Energy. Global Warming will remain an issue until they make a killing in the markets…. at that point we can start having rational conversations!

  5. Well said Nigel!
Oh! what a drubbing we will give the main UK parties when the European elections come around next year and UKIP wipe the floor with them.
Then May 2015 the UK general election comes around just as the biggest winter fuel bills final demands fall on our mats, swollen by the gluttony of the ever increasing regressive tax the ROC.
Shall I vote UKIP and do away with the nonsensical governmentally ordained annual increases till 2020 or will I vote Lib/Con/lab because I want to be poor?
    Let me think………

    • There is only one British Party that will end this climate nonsense and using the term Lib/Con/Lab you know exactly what I mean. Farage is a Con, that is why he is often promoted by the media (who have large green investments) just before elections. We need to think very carefully before we vote or learn the hard way.

  6. Mr Barroso brings up the mythical 99% of scientists (actually 97%) that have pronounced AGW as being a fact.
I can only assume he has not seen the source of this number…the fraudulent survey where a grad student and her professor cherry picked over 10,000 surveys sent out down to a mere 77 respondents; of which 75 had the “correct” answers…hence 97% consensus.

  7. I met Farage a few times, when I was involved in UK politics, once spent 10 minutes talking exclusively to him at a book launch.

He has the political skills to be anything he wants to be – this is obvious, because despite over a decade of effort, the best political operators of the traditional parties have failed to crush him and his party.

If he had so chosen, he could have become Prime Minister, by ignoring his conscience and putting loyalty to the party above conscience.

If he had chosen, he could have retired by now as a filthy rich banker – but he gave up his career in banking over a decade ago, when he chose to be a politician.

Because Nigel is a man on a mission. He wants to save Britain, for his children’s sake, for the sake of the people he loves.

He played the riskiest game a politician can play – he absolutely, utterly, refused to compromise his honour for the sake of power. He chose a decade in the wilderness over the immediate rewards which were his to claim.

And now, in the age of plastic glove puppet politicians, Farage stands tall, as someone who speaks for the people of Britain, who stands up for what everyone in their heart knows is right.

    • Thanks for the link.
H2O is by far the dominant GHG on the atmosphere as proven, among other evidence, by the increase of the OLWR recently despite the increase of CO2, while the AGW models predicted exactly the opposite.
This is due to atmospheric dryness:
“… As can be seen via both CERES and the NOAA/NCEP radiosonde measurements & reanalysis, OLWR has increased markedly over time as surface temperatures warmed… Reason for this is a decrease in cloud cover, O^3, and H2O (the decline in H2O above 850mb has outweighed any increase in backfired LWR via increasing CO2 by a factor of 57)… “

  8. Nigel does tell them what we are all thinking, and we have a few nationalist parties in the EU sticking it to the socialists so all good, although I am slightly skeptical of Farage’s true policies.

Here’s a very interesting debate with Richard Lintzen of MIT at Oxford Uni debating society about climate science and politics, if you’ve got the time – it’s about 50 minutes – watch it:

  9. If men like Farage and Wilders exist there is still hope in the EUrinal for change, common-sense, and the disavowal of statism, greenism, collectivism, and darwinism. Europe suffers from a malaise of Marxist-Darwinist-Atheist culture, which will ultimately wipe it out if not reversed.

  10. Mr. Barroso and most of the rest of the Greens seem to have forgotten that the most basic rule of propaganda is that to be effective, it has to be essentially true, or at least have some element of truth in it. If it doesn’t, it won’t work, and sooner or later, most people will see it for what it is. “You can’t fool all the people all the time.”

  11. When this global warming falsehood is proven to be so which i think has been with the 60% increase in the arctic ice then will the politicians abolish the green taxes on fuel so that poor people can drive their cars and heat their homes? i would even say a tax refund would be in order paid from the deep pockets of the deluded beaurocrats who have gorged on our enforced poverty through their stupid notions and lies…

  12. Those two satellite pictures are more credible than the argument put foreword by Mr. Barroso. One is scientific evidence and the other is the politically correct rubbish put forward by a politician defending a political agenda.
