Northern France hit by heavy snow – More on the way

On Tuesday night more than 1,500 motorists were stranded on the N118.

8 Feb 2018 – Météo-France is warning of more snowfall in Ile-de-France on Friday.

Forecasters are calling for 3 to 10 cm on the ground from Limousin to the Belgian border, 3 to 6 cm on Lille and Paris, 5 to 7 cm in Chartres, 3 to 5 cm in Tours, 4 to 7 cm in Limoges and finally, 4 to 6 cm in Orleans.

These snowfalls will add to the totals already fallen on the Ile-de-France.

Also, particularly cold temperatures of -12.4 ° were recorded this morning in Pontoise, -7.9 at the Longchamp racecourse in Paris and -7.5 ° in Fontainebleau.

The prefecture of police in Paris renewed calls for people to not to use their vehicles on Friday.

The N118 will remain closed in both directions between the bridge of Sèvres and Les Ulis “until further order”. The N1 also remains closed in the direction province-Paris of Isle Adam.

  1. will this be blamed on just a “cold snap” again?

    Just like that Navy warship stuck in ice in Montreal until spring. Is that just considered a cold snap?
