My apologies for not yet approving so many of your comments.
As you may or not know, I rented a huge Penske truck and car carrier and moved from the Seattle area to Texas just four weeks ago.
Well, I couldn’t fit everything into the truck, so I just flew back, rented another huge Penske truck and another car carrier, and am on the road again back to Texas.
We’re talking about more than 2,000 miles and the truck has a governor that doesn’t allow me to go faster than 70 mph, so the trip will take several days.
Please bear with me here, I’ll be back soon.
Robert

Cool. I thought you were moving back to Seattle when I saw the headline.
be careful, Robert
Oh my
Can’t go faster than 70.
What a bummer.
😉

Safe travels!
Best of luck with the drive. I’ve done many California to Florida and it can be brutal. Don’t worry about us, we’ll wait 😉
Hopefully you will be able to avoid bad weather this timel
If you can find some time to enjoy bits of the trip It will be less of a chore.
Safe travels!
Looking forward to your return Robert.
Have a good trip.
🙂 I suspect quite a few of us regulars would relate to the -oh dear its wont all fit- issue when moving. hope you have a smooth trip weather wise back to the new abode Robert

Two good driving songs anyway. I have driven from San Diego to Dallas Area several times – got experience 🙂
At least now you’ll be safe from the Seattle rent a mob. Texans love their freedom.
In reference to the speed limit, most of the freeways in Texas are 70 or above. When I moved with my family 5 years ago, I was driving a 26 foot U-Haul at 80 mph along the Texas freeways and it was perfectly legal.
Have a safe journey!
Take your time and have a wonderful trip.
Moving is not fun! Hope you have a safe 2nd trip and get all your things back safely to your new home.
that being said… I really don’t think you’d want to drive a truck over 70 mph anyway … a lot more risky, especially if you’re traveling roads you don’t know well, have turns etc.
I’m still in the getting decluttered, getting rid of stuff, packing and planning stage of a move. Seems to take forever…
Looks like you’ve decided to become one of the early migrants, Robert. Hope you can handle the tradeoff-ice for tornados! We just had a monster go thru the capitol, Jeff City. As for the wall, it would have been great to have it 40 years ago, but if they build it now it will impede the migration South… Good luck in your new home!
I check your site every day, amongst others. Sometimes I get results and sometimes I don’t. Such is life. No need for any apologies, IMO. Enjoy the voyage, the destination will come, eventually. BTW, I’ve quoted/linked to your articles, in the past. Thank you for posting common sense.
Safe travels. That must have been a bummer to have to go back and forth twice Robert!. Keep well. I often link your remarks on Joannenova.com.au.
Welcome to Texas!
