Oregon ski area opens more than a month early

Parts of the western U.S. got up to 21 inches (53 cm) of snow over the weekend and early this week.

The snow allowed Oregon’s Timberline Lodge, which  typically opens in late November, to open more than a month early.

“Another round of accumulating snow is possible later in the weekend or early next week,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tim Kines.

  1. We’ve had snow on Mt Ashland in Oregon since the remnants of Hurricane Songda swept through a week ago. News Stations are stating that Mt Ashland and other ski areas may be officially open for Thanksgiving weekend, which is very early.
