Our Nation, any nation, needs low cost reliable electricity

Marcus

I had the displeasure of hearing part of Biden’s rally. Not only will he ban fracking, but dispose of all oil, gas, and coal. Meanwhile, he claims that he will not increase taxes on people making less than $400,000 per year. However, he will raise taxes on “Big Business”!

Biden is the typical politician, for he has no idea how business works! For instance: One such “Big Business” is grocery store chains. If Biden puts a 20% tax on a grocery store chain, then tomorrow there will be a 20% increase in the prices of all “Our” groceries! Who is paying the tax? That’s right all of us!

The same thing happens in any business!

Think about the taxes on oil and gas. One can bet the loss of tax revenue will be transferred to the “New Green Swindle” electric prices! Looks as if “We” will be burning books in our fireplace like those in England did!

Don’t forget, with no gas for your vehicle, you will have to buy an expensive new electric vehicle!

Buy solar for home? Most city homes don’t have the room to supply all the electricity they need. And those that live in an apartment or condo will soon be living under an overpass!

Jobs?

Where, Biden, in China?

Don’t forget that the Democrats want open borders, so those jobs will be low pay for the most part!

Is he aware that it will take about 7 billion solar panels just to meet the electrical demand we have today? I’m guessing that about 21 Billion solar panels will be needed to heat our homes and supply electricity to our vehicles, but it could be more! The best locations for solar are the desert southwest. The 7 billion panels would cover most of south eastern California and Nevada’s deserts as well as most of Arizona and New Mexico’s flat lands and part of western Texas.

Where are the rest of the estimated 21 billion panels going to go? Unfortunately, the farther north the panels are installed, the less total output they have, so more panels will be needed. This is plainly unrealistic!

What about Alaska? In the winter there is little to no sunlight! Furthermore, it snows heavily in Alaska, so the panels become useless with snow on them.

Battery back-up is very expensive and does not last!

Solar panels covered with snow produce almost nothing, and wind machines will shake themselves apart when ice forms on the blades!

One thing those “Off Grid” building shows fail to mention is that the battery back-up systems only have enough power for about 4 days! — Some of these storms can last a week or more!

Acid batteries, like those in your vehicles last about 4-5 years. Lithium batteries may last about 7-8 years, and Metal Hydride batteries may last about 10 years. Obviously, added expense years ahead. BTW: All these batteries are “Hazardous Material”, so disposal will be another expense.

One thing these “Off Grid” houses have that “We” don’t — Is a wood stove for heating the house!

Can you imagine yourself being in dwelling with only electric heat and a main power line breaks?

This actually happened to me when I lived near Tahoe. The main power line broke due to snow load and shut down the whole county! The snow was so heavy that the repair trucks got stuck in the snow. Fortunately, we had a wood stove for heat. Also doubled as a stove for cooking. A friend stuck in an all electric apartment was freezing, and came up to live with us for over a week until the line was repaired.

And how about more “Statues of Stupidity” mucking up our wonderful ocean view? That’s right, they plan to put up expensive ($2-3 million) wind machines out in the ocean.

Did they forget that the structure to hold that expensive machine will cost a fortune? Who is going to guard it? The Somalia Pirates will be on their way if our own crooks don’t get there first! We already know that wind power is unreliable, and can’t pay for itself. Of course, one hurricane later — They are all broken or gone!

I’ve said this before: “Our Nation, any nation, needs low cost reliable electricity”! Unfortunately, renewable energy is too unreliable, and not as cheap as they claim!

  1. Of course, none of that is feasible with current population levels. The elites.. er.. parasites have planned their utopia with the fewest peasants possible to serve them by keeping the machines running. They’ve already told us via “The Great Reset” and Billy Gates eugenics program complete with mandatory vaccines. Deagel.com claims we go from 330 mil to 99 mil (USA) by 2025 but hey, forecasts, everybody’s got one. Maybe deagel is considering a major rather than mini ice age.

    Communism strikes again!

  2. The total energy in fossil fuels for transportation is roughly the same as the total energy currently produced as electricity. To go to electric vehicles and eliminate fuels will require a DOUBLE of the total electric grid capacity and generation.

Now figure “renewable unreliables” are at most 20% today. So 4 x more to replace current demand PLUS 5 x more for the eCars and such. We would require 9 x (probably 10 times after conversion and battery losses…) more wind and solar.

    Where you gonna put it?

We can’t build another whole grid worth of capacity in time for the specified “all electric no fossil fuel” dates. Physical impossibility.

Battery life span is strongly dependent on number of cycles and depth of discharge. Basically, “if you use it, you lose it”. So, for example, to make Lithium battery life long enough, Tesla has software to prevent discharge beyond 80%. So figure either you get shorter battery life, or you must buy a battery 25% larger than you need.

BTW, increasingly there is a ban on burning wood. Where I live, in Silly Con Valley, it is forbidden to put a fireplace in new construction. I have a fireplace. When it’s cold and you need heat, we have prohibitions on using your fireplace… But you can burn wood on days when it’s hot and windy…

  3. Don’t worry, I’m voting Republican!
I don’t like all of them, but it’s certainly better than the alternative,

  4. Magnetic engine driven generators is likely the answer to this problem. There are plenty of experimental proof of concept models of this shown on you tube. They require no hydro dams, chemical or radioactive fuels except to manufacture the components. The technology allows local power generation and they need not be a power company monopoly.
