Record lows across the Canadian Maritimes


Breaks record for entire province of Prince Edward Island (PEI) Previous low set in 1972

According to Environment Canada, yesterday’s low of –8.9 C in Charlottetown, PEI, set a new record for April 19 in the province.

The other Maritime provinces also broke some low temperature records yesterday.

In Saint John, Newfoundland, the temperature dropped to –7 C, breaking the previous record low of –5.3 C set in 2009.

Similarly in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the mercury dropped to –8 C, breaking the previous record low of –6.4 C set in 2001.
