Record mid-November snowfall in Hokkaido (with video)

16 Nov 2016 – Winter arrives in  Asahikawa city with 24-hour snowfall amount of  38 cm (almost 15 inches).


The amount of snow which fell in 24 hours was localized heavy snow.

By noon in Asahikawa city, snow accumulation had reached 44 cm, making it the largest in mid-November snowfall since records began in 1961.

    The multi-car crash was in an area with lanes that appeared snow packed. It is unclear the extent of the injuries involved in that crash.
