Red code for blizzard in Romania

After the blizzard comes Yellow Code for cold – Down to minus 28 across the country.

Meteorologists Friday issued a Red Code for blizzard and snow for six counties; Buzau, Braila, Constanta, Tulcea, Ialomita and Calarasi. According to the National Meteorology Administration (ANM) strong wind with gusts over 85 km / h, blowing snow and strong snowbound, reduced visibility to zero.

Five Buzau county roads are closed due to snow and blizzards, according to the Center Infotrafic General Inspectorate of Romanian Police.

After the blizzard comes the cold.

Director General of the NMA, Elena Mateescu, announced that in the next three days the temperatures will run between minus 21 and minus 10 degrees, and by Tuesday will drop to minus 28 at night and minus 11 degrees during the day across the country.

  1. Wow that is a lot of snow in a short period of time. I hope those people have the right housing, clothing, heating etc to stay safe.
