The snow started falling early in the afternoon, with steady snow by 1:00 p.m.
8 Dec 2019 – As of 6 p.m., the Weather Service said that 2.75 inches of snow had fallen.
The previous record for December 8th in Bismarck was 1.8 inches, set in 2012.

Interesting that both records occurred since the oracle David Viner prophesied the “end of snow” in 2000.
