…SNOW CONTINUES ACROSS THE INTERIOR…

RAIN FROM MONDAY TURNED INTO SNOW OVERNIGHT WITH REPORTS FROM ACROSS THE INTERIOR OF 0.3 TO 5.1 INCHES AS OF 9 AM THIS MORNING.

THE HEAVY WET SNOW ON TOP OF ALREADY WET ROADS IS CREATING VERY SLUSHY DRIVING CONDITIONS…AND VISIBILITY IS BEING REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE MILE BY SNOW AND FOG.

SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO ACCUMULATE THROUGH THE DAY WITH A TOTAL SNOWFALL OF 4 TO 20 INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE BY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE NEAR THE ALASKA RANGE.
4 TO 14 INCHES OF SNOW WILL FALL AROUND FAIRBANKS.

EXTREME WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE PROBABLE AND CAUTION SHOULD BE — USED IF YOU ARE TRAVELING AROUND THE INTERIOR.

  1. Doublecheck with wunderground.com 10-day forecast for Fairbanks:
    current: 28.2 deg F, humidity 93%; not much snow forecast, rain likely Sat & Sun.
    Other weather news: getting cold in Eastern Europe, taking toll on refugees.
    It’s been very hot here in So CA. If this is a harsh winter, we might be able to pry some AGW folks away from their ideology.

  2. Speaking of refugees…I have been wondering how they will fare in the European winter of 2015. They have been getting colder.

    Why, even in my part of the world (middle of the US), a call has gone out to provide coats for a huge number of the schoolchildren. Many are from warmer parts of the world. They didn’t come equipped with cold-weather clothing.
