Syracuse New York shatters snowfall record for the date

14 Dec 2017 – Yesterday’s snowfall at Hancock International Airport, the official measuring station for Syracuse, measured 8.9 inches, far surpassing the old record for Dec. 13 of 5.9 inches set in 1951.

Many parts of New York received even more snow than that.

Redfield received 21.4 inches on Wednesday alone, and since Sunday had received 44.3 inches. Phoenix measured 14.4 inches on Wednesday, while 10.5 inches fell in Camillus.

Syracuse has received 16.1 inches of snow since Sunday.
