The destructive power of hail – Short video

“After watching this, you’ll understand why our ancestors lived in caves.” – Stephen Bird

This video was shot on 30 June 2018. Can you imagine what it did to the crops?

Thanks to Stephen Bird and Caroline Snyder for this video

  1. i think i sent you a link re an american zoo that took a beating this week
2 exhibits killed(birds) bet the others werent feeling too good either;-(
entire carpark of visitors a write off

  2. The broken windscreens I would expect but the side windows too! And the building damage is quite an eyeopener. Welcome to the Little Ice Age.

  3. 21 And great hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, fell from heaven on people; and they cursed God for the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.

  4. There’s a reason why almost all American homes have plywood or wood sheathing under roof shingles. Imagine the damage to solar panels on top of the shingles. I noticed a couple of homes in the video had functioning roofs. Probably because they were modernized.

  5. We had massive hail in Colorado Springs twice this year. On the 6th of August we had baseball and softball sized hail destroy thousands of cars at Fort Carson. It also killed a few animals at the zoo as well as injured several people. I would give links but it is all over the web. Try

  6. What do you mean, Kenneth. Hasn’t anyone told you about ‘hothouse Earth’? The BBC know all about it. 🙂

  7. See all the leaves on peoples cars,
they have been ripped of the trees.
Some of the later footage shows some trees almost devoid of leaves and of course fruit.
The insurance companies are going to go bankrupt and stop offering policies.
    Soon you will be uninsured.
I’d say in no more than 12 months.
Very fitting that they chose a Fugue for the soundtrack.

  8. With out any records of Hail from the past, this information is totally useless?

Do we have more or less hail?

Is more AREA of land being hit by hail?

Are they more days of Hail?

    Is the hail more frequent?

    Is the hail larger?

Without ANY data from the past, this present hail is totally meaningless and means nothing.

  9. There is a great deal of (green) energy in all that ice mass falling to the ground from many thousands of feet. I have just dreamed up a scheme to harness it. I believe I can do a pilot study for $10 million or so. Where do I send my grant application?
