  1. Wow that was fast, I just said something about lake effect lastnight. Great lakes ice 12\16\15-0.00 12/16/2014-1.3-12/16/13-12.7% . 12% ice on great lakes is only in shallower bays & shorelines, all water around Buffalo NY. was wide open on this date last two years also. But no matter, I don’t even have to watch any weather on TV , the snow will be caused by all this recent open water due to global warming/ Imean climate change/Imean extreme weather,oh hell facts ,facts I can’t stand FACTS, gotta run, here my keys shakin?

    • 😉
in aus we are copping the same waffle
except we have a few days of 40+c happening
      with change due sat late/sunday
youd think the world had come to an end
runs of a week or more of 100+ arent unusual in aus
      but theyre saying it is.

      • Thanks for restoring my confidence in Aussies. The Aljazeera captions of a heatwave in Adelaide (40C) made me wonder if Aussies have become sissies. Back in the mid-1970s I was stationed at Upington (much like Alice Springs) in Northern Cape, South Africa, where 40C was par for the course in summer. That was before global warming started and we were still concerned about the approaching termination of the present interglacial. In those days I did geological field work and military training in the local commando. We were issued salt pills to counter salt loss due to sweating. Since then the dieticians decided that salt was unhealthy. I still like salt and completed the Cape Town Marathon in September at the age of 67.

      • Another “record” was predicted but unfortunately Fridays official BOM max topped at 39C so the record number of days in a row over 40 for December never eventuated but it was an arbitrarily created record anyway.
Naturally everyone believes the record occurred.

        • According to the most recent weather forecast from Aljazeera temperatures will soar to 29C in Adelaide, 22C in Sydney. Similar range of maxima for South African cities.

  2. I used to live in Southwest St. Lawrence county, right by Fort Drum. We would travel through it to reach Watertown. I remember one Winter, we pulled off a “Spinorama” on the highway…might have been back in 85 or so…
