Vermont – Record number of school closings due to snow

This in an area that is no stranger to snow.

13 Feb 2017 – Up to a foot and a half (45 cm) of snow fell in the Burlington region from Sunday into Monday morning.

The snow forced closure of a record number of schools, 603.

“It’s a reminder of what a real Vermont winter feels like,” says wcax.com.

  1. Let’s face it; this is in large part due to the “safety” component of winter driving for both the school buses, and especially the teachers. If they receive either side of 6+ inches they basically close the schools.

It’s not like it was back in the 70’s and before.
