Washington, D.C. – Temps plunge to new record lows

“Dulles and BWI airports plunge to new record lows,” reads the headline in the Washington Post.

Temperatures across the D.C. and Baltimore areas plummeted into the 50s and even the 40s in a few spots this morning, setting new records at both Dulles and BWI airports.

The mercury at Dulles dropped to an astonishingly low 48 degrees, shattering the record of 51 from 1981.

It’s the third record low at Dulles this month.

The temperature fell to 52 yesterday, below the previous July 29 record of 53 set in 1978.

In addition, Dulles tied a record low on July 17 of 55 set in 1976.

Thanks to Argiris Diamantis in the Netherlands for this link

“New low temperature records are appearing almost every day now,” says Argiris. “This in what according to NOAA is supposed to be the hottest year ever… If you’re gullible enough to believe that.”

  1. Not a good sign at all!! Could lead to a brutal cold Winter for the US East coast if this keeps up! Little Ice Age conditions have begun.

  2. Yep it was 48F when I woke up this morning and no doubt its a new record low for this time of year and If I’m not wrong it broke the record low for the whole month.

  3. In the area on business, and sure enough this evening everyone was commenting on how cool and pleasant it has been. More like late September. In Atlanta too.

    Carbon Credits must be working………
    LOL.
